(SUNNI)

Who am I?  I am "SUNNI," an Authentic being living in my truth, a fierce protector of my peace and freedom, a true Aquarian, a recovering social justice podcast. HER (Podcast: Active Allyship it's more than a #hashtag), a thought-leader, a Pen~PusHer, a teller of truth, a lover of poodles, music, cultural experiences, travel, photography and LIFE!  O yea, I'm also a mentor and champion for high school students - sharing the roadmap to Financial Empowerment through the early integration of smart money habits, all while developing talent pipelines for the Financial Services Industry through informative discussions about career possibilities.

I am also a kidney transplant recipient who will unabashedly share my story of Warriorship to encourage folks to become donors - I'm here, healthy and thriving because of someone's compassion.

I started skating as a kid on the sidewalks of Washington, DC (Petworth to be exact) where I grew up... yup those old metal skates with the key (you had a pair too, didn't you?).  Once I was allowed to hang out with my older sister and cousins, I'd walk with them to the Kalorama Roller Skating Rink for indoor skating.

As a teenager, I was able to venture out to Maryland with friends to what we referred to as "Wheel-A-While", which became Seabrook Skating Rink and is now Lanham Skate Center... or some semblance of this order. The camaraderie of the skate community really is unmatched!  I've been able to create what I believe to be lifelong friendships in this space.  When I'm not skating, who knows, I could be discussing current events, getting ink therapy, cooking, mentoring, shopping, traveling, attending a play or musical performance, chilling with my standard poodles - Mr. Brown and Sir Maxwell Blu (Max) or Meditating - a practice that allows me to get back to my Center and connect with my Source - The Most High. Let's keep on rollin'... ~Sunni
