The Vibrant Blue-and-Red exterior of this Prince George’s County rink hints at the liveliness inside. A dance party on wheels erupts during recurring special events: Gospel night, Adult night, the requisite Birthday parties. Arcade games beep in the background as skaters of all ages and skill levels zoom by; the Lanham Skate Center is the home of the METRO ROLLER Skate Club and it is a popular destination for many other Skate clubs as well. Many come for “Jam Skating,” an entertaining blend of dance, gymnastics and roller skating. Picture a Hand Dancer, Break Dancer and or Ballet Dancer on wheels. There are many styles of skating at various skill levels that the skaters of all ages and backgrounds come to enjoy!

Please Respect our Skating Rink. Lanham-Seabrook Skate Center welcomes you. They do everything they can to optimize your visit there. The owner Ali, gives back to both the skating and non-skating community in many ways. He and his staff do everything to also insure your safety while you're there. With your help and support, Ali and his staff have been able to continue to provide the skaters with the best skating rink in the DMV. Thank you for Respecting Lanham-skating rink. Please continue to adhere to the rules and regulations posted inside and outside of the rink. The METRO ROLLERS are cross-section of Professional, Informed and Concerned members of our community.
The METRO ROLLERS SKATE CLUB is based in Lanham Seabrook, MD. It is one of the fastest growing skating clubs in the state of Maryland. We now have over 150 members of all ages. We currently have members joining from Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia and as far away as Georgia, Florida and New York. For Membership Information, stop by Lanham Skating Center Sat.10 am - 12 noon, Sun 1 pm - 4 pm, Mon or Wed 7:30 pm - 11 pm, or Thurs and Fridays 7:30 pm - 11 pm. Our members also skate during the Monday and Wednesday night sessions as well. We also skate at Laurel Roller Skating Center during the Thursday and Sunday night session. Come out and join us. OUR MISSION Generally, the mission of the METRO ROLLERS Skate Club encompasses a myriad of dynamic and progressive approaches to the sport of roller skating and its associated activities. Specifically, our mission as members of the METRO ROLLERS Skate Club is to provide an atmosphere which offers: Fellowship, Mentoring, Exhibitioning (limited travel to regional locales for the purpose of recruiting and demonstrating acquired skills.), To provide an alternative activity for children, young adults and more experienced individuals. To provide limited instruction on basic free style roller skating methods. Skating Basics Stopping on Skates - Forward Skating - Backward Skating - Turning - Footwork on Skates - Falling Safely on Skates - Practice Skating Getting Better Fast - Beginner Skate Dance Moves and Spinning on Skates, Lessons on Video by Candice Heiden, Skate Lessons and Questions and Answer Session on video by Dirty Debra Harry.
To Educate, potential and active, participants of the sport of roller skating about benefits of the sport and an association with the METRO ROLLERS.
To provide a positive environment for all members and non-members, opportunities to develop new relationships, exchange diverse view-points, and to respect and appreciate each other as individuals.
For members to be loyal to the mission of the METRO ROLLERS and to conduct themselves at all times in a professional and courteous manner both on and off the skating surface and in and out of the skating rink,
CODE OF CONDUCT
1. NO GUM CHEWING ANYWHERE IN THE RINK. 2. CHANGE SHOES AND SKATES IN THE LOCKER AREA. 3. ALL PERSONS RENTING SKATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR SOCKS. 4. FOR YOUR SAFETY AND SECURITY, LOCK ALL COATS, SHOES AND PURSES IN LOCKERS. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ARTICLES. 5. TOE STOPS MUST BE WORN ON ALL SKATES THAT HAVE A PLACE FOR TOE STOPS. 6. NO SITTING ON THE WALLS, COUNTERS OR TABLES. 7. ALL FOOD AND BEVERAGES MUST BE KEPT IN THE SNACK BAR AREA. 8. NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES, INCLUDING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, MAY BE BROUGHT INTO THE RINK. WHILE SKATIN. 9. NO PUSHING, FAST SKATING, PLAYING TAG, CHAIN SKATING, OR STOPPING AT ANY TIME ON THE SKATE FLOOR. 10. RECKLESS OR INCONSIDERATE SKATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. 11. COMBS, HATS, AND BRUSHES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE WORN ON SKATE FLOOR. 12. BACKWARD SKATING IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING DESIGNED SPECIALTY SKATES. 13. ANYONE WEARING SKATES IS NOT PERMITTED TO CARRY A CHILD. 14. IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR HAVE A SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION THAT MAY BE AGGRAVATED BY EXERCISE, PLEASE DO NOT SKATE. 15. PROFANITY OR FOUL LANGUAGE IS NOT PERMITTED. 16. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHECK ALL BAGS. BEFORE LEAVING. 17. PLEASE TUCK LACES INSIDE SKATES AND PLACE THE SKATES ON THE SKATE RENTAL COUNTER. 18. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADMISSION TO ANYONE NOT MEETING THE STANDARDS OF GOOD TASTE AND TO EVICT PERSONS NOT FOLLOWING THE POLICIES.
