About The Metro Rollers

The Metro Rollers are based at Lanham Seabrook Skate Center, Laurel Skate Center and Wheels Skate Center of Odenton, all in Maryland.
Generally, the mission of the METRO ROLLERS Skate Club encompasses a myriad of dynamic and progressive approaches to the sport of ROLLER SKATING and its associated activities. Specifically, our mission as members of the METRO ROLLERS Skate Club is to provide an atmosphere which offers:
1. FELLOWSHIP
2. MENTORING
3. EXHIBITION (limited travel to regional locales for the purpose of recruiting and demonstrating acquired skills)
4. To provide an ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITY for children, young adults and more experienced individuals.
5. To provide LIMITED INSTRUCTION ON BASIC FREESTYLE ROLLER SKATING METHODS - Skating Basics - Stopping on Skates - Forward Skating - Backward Skating - Turning - Footwork on Skates - Falling Safely on Skates - Practice Skating Getting Better Fast - Beginner Skate Dance Moves and Spinning on Skates by Candice Heiden - Questions and Answers Session with Dirty Debra Harry
6. To EDUCATE potential and active participants of the sport of roller skating about benefits of the sport and an association with METRO ROLLERS.
7. To PROVIDE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS, opportunities to develop new relationships, exchange diverse view-points, and learn how to respect each other as individuals.
8. For members to be loyal to the mission of the METRO ROLLERS and to conduct themselves at all times in a professional and courteous manner both on and off the skating surface in and out of the skating rink,
